Die BGR ist im Rahmen der durch das Ministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung finanzierten TZ seit 2009 in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo tätig.
Das aktuelle Vorhaben wird hier kurz vorgestellt.

Eastern DR Congo has recently prominently been figuring again in the news following a large-scale offensive of the M23 armed group backed by Rwandan forces. International ob-servers are often quick to point to the region's mineral riches as a root cause for the dec-ades-long turmoil. Since eight years, the BGR advises the United Nations Stabilization Mis-sion in the DR Congo (MONUSCO) by analyz-ing artisanal mining trends, their links with conflict dynamics and by advising on mining governance efforts. Yannick Weyns, our col-league seconded to MONUSCO, will share his insights and experiences.
